Report: Celtics assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry leaving team

The Celtics' season came to an end Wednesday night after their Game 5 loss to the Bucks, and the offseason dominoes already are starting to fall.

C's assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry is leaving the team to rejoin the Purdue coaching staff, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.

Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports Shrewsberry's departure has been pending for about a month or so.

Shrewsberry joined the Celtics staff before the 2013-14 NBA season.

Aron Baynes bids farewell to Boston in Instagram post

Aron Baynes bids farewell to Boston in Instagram post

As the Aron Baynes era in Boston comes to an end, the big man has a message for the city he's called home for the last two years.

Baynes, who was traded to the Phoenix Suns during the 2019 NBA Draft, posted a simple yet thoughtful message to his Instagram on Wednesday.

"Loved my time in Boston," he wrote. "Appreciate all the messages, support and kind words."

Baynes averaged 5.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in his two seasons with the Celtics. With the 6-foot-10 Australian gone and veteran big man Al Horford reportedly planning to leave in free agency, the C's are left searching for rim protectors to fill the void.

As for what the Celtics got from the Suns in the deal for Baynes, they acquired Milwaukee's first-round pick in next year's draft.

Julian Edelman makes pitch for Kevin Durant to join Celtics

Julian Edelman makes pitch for Kevin Durant to join Celtics

Julian Edelman has been making the media rounds over the last week to promote his upcoming Showtime documentary, "100%: Julian Edelman".

On Wednesday, the Patriots wide receiver held an AMA on the Bleacher Report app and answered all sorts of questions, both football and non-football related, from fans. One of those non-football related questions asked Edelman where NBA free agent Kevin Durant is signing, and whether he is prepared to sell the superstar on joining the Celtics.

Check out Edelman's response below. . .

This isn't the three-time Super Bowl champion's first time recruiting Durant to the C's. Edelman made his pitch for KD to come to Boston the last time he was a free agent in 2016.

That pitch proved to not be enough as Durant ultimately chose to sign with the Golden State Warriors instead. That decision worked out pretty well for him, of course, as he went on lead the Warriors to two NBA titles while earning two NBA Finals MVP awards.

As he prepares to hit free agency for the second time, Durant reportedly has been getting "pressed" by Kyrie Irving to join him in signing with the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks are expected to meet with the 10-time All-Star as well.

So if Edelman really wants to get KD on the C's, he's going to have to step up his recruitment game this time around.
