Jaylen Brown has long worked without an agent, but it appears that recently has changed.
The Boston Celtics forward is now working with ex-teammate Al Horford's agent, Jason Glushon, ESPN's Jackie MacMullan revealed on the most recent episode of ESPN's Hoop Collective Podcast (11-minute mark). NBC Sports Boston's own A. Sherrod Blakely reported last week Brown was looking into hiring an agent, and it looks like Glushon was the man for the job.
Glushon, who also represents Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, helped Horford sign a four-year, $109 million contract with the 76ers over the summer. Now, he'll assist Brown in contract extension negotiations with Boston.
Although hiring a new agent indicates otherwise, Brown stresses he isn't focused on a new deal with the 2019-20 season set to get underway.
"To be honest, I'm not putting too much thought into it," Brown told reporters last week at Celtics Media Day. "I'm not losing any sleep over it. I think stuff like that ends up working itself out in the end, or however so. I'm just focused on this season and playing basketball. I think that's my No. 1 emphasis. Let the chips fall where they may."
Brown and the C's begin their season on Oct. 23 vs. Horford and the Sixers.
