It was reported earlier on Thursday that Baynes was placed on the trading block as the C's looked to clear cap space. The 6-foot-10 Australian had exercised the $5.4 million player option on his 2019-20 contract with the Celtics just eight days ago.
The Celtics received picks 24 and 33 as compensation in a trade with the 76ers, who took Boston's No. 20 pick and selected Matisse Thybulle.
