Report: Kemba Walker intends to play for Team USA in 2019 FIBA World Cup

James Harden, Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, CJ McCollum and Eric Gordon are all out. Kemba Walker doesn't care.

Though many All-Stars have withdrawn from Team USA as the 2019 FIBA World Cup approaches — and several others declined a roster spot in the first place — Walker intends to stay with the team.

Walker and Damian Lillard are the only All-NBA-caliber players remaining on the roster. Notably, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is fighting for one of the last roster spots. Plus, if more players drop out, Jaylen Brown might get a call from USA Basketball President Jerry Colangelo, who recently praised Brown.

The international tournament begins on August 31 in China, and will directly qualify seven nations for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Walker and Lillard will likely headline one of the weakest U.S. teams in recent memory — America has won the gold medal in the past two World Cups (and past three Olympics), but typically field a roster full of All-NBA superstars.
