Richard Jefferson is kicking the Boston Celtics while they're down.
The former NBA swingman, who now is a color commentator for Brooklyn Nets games on the YES Network, ran into a small but passionate contingent of Boston fans at Barclays Center before Monday's Celtics-Nets matchup.
So, Jefferson decided to share a message with them.
"I just want to say one thing about Boston: You guys have great fans. Awesome fans, some of the best in the league," Jefferson said.
"And two: I'm 4-0 against Boston in the playoffs."
Boston Celtics
That's savage -- but it's also a little off.
Jefferson actually is 3-0 versus the Celtics in his postseason career: His New Jersey Nets defeated Boston in the 2002 Eastern Conference Finals and 2003 East Semifinals, while his Cleveland Cavaliers knocked off the C's in the 2017 East Finals.
And while the versatile forward played a big role in that 2003 series win, he played just 11.2 minutes per game in Celtics-Cavs and averaged 6.5 points per contest in the 2002 C's-Nets series.
But we should give credit where credit is due, as Jefferson is one of the few NBA players to say he's undefeated against the C's in the postseason.
RJ also got the last laugh Monday night, as the Nets won 109-102 to hand Boston its third consecutive loss.
