The Boston Celtics were able to knock off the Cleveland Cavaliers in their second summer-league game by a final score of 89-72. It was a strong effort for the Celtics, and it also was a continuation of Tacko Fall's rise.
Fall drew attention from fans in his summer league debut, as many were excited to see the 7-foot-6 big man in action. He quickly became a fan favorite and heard chants of "We want Tacko" in his first two outings. And in a postgame interview, he spoke about what that meant to him.
"I see all the support," Fall said to NBA TV's Stephanie Ready. "I feel blessed. I hear the noise, I hear everybody cheering for me. It means a lot to me."
And Fall did give the team a lot to cheer about in his second game. He was very impressive against the Cavaliers going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and totaled 12 points, 2 rebounds, and a block in just 11 minutes of action.
Though Fall was able to make some highlights thanks to his huge frame, he also stayed active in involved in many plays, which was related to one of the skills he wants to show off in the summer league.
"I can move," Fall said to Ready. "That's the biggest question mark for people my size. Can he move? Can he run up and down? I feel like I can do all of those things and for me, it was just a matter of coming here and proving it."
Fall will continue to get a chance to prove that he belongs on an NBA roster when the Celtics face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, July 9th. The game will start at 8:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBC Sports Boston or streamed on the My Teams App.
