These stats will make Celtics fans confident for Game 7 vs. Raptors


The Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors will play a winner-take-all Game 7 on Friday night with a berth in the Eastern Conference finals at stake.

The Celtics franchise is no stranger to Game 7s. They have played in 32 -- the most in league history. Boston has played in five Game 7s since 2011, with three wins.

The Raptors are 3-2 all time in Game 7s since entering the NBA for the 1995-96 season.

--The Celtics are 23-9 in Game 7s in franchise history. Those 23 Game 7 wins are the most all-time.

--Since 1980, the C's are 6-2 in Game 7s during the Eastern Conference semifinals.

--Boston is 3-2 in its last five Game 7s after losing Game 6.

--Celtics coach Brad Stevens is 2-1 in Game 7s in seven seasons with Boston.

--Defense will be key in Game 7, and the Celtics lead the 2020 NBA playoffs in points allowed, opponent field goal percentage and opponent 3-point percentage.

--Three of five Raptors starters have little or no experience in Game 7s. Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam have both played in one Game 7, while OG Anunoby missed last year's Game 7 versus the Philadelphia 76ers due to injury.

--The Raptors became the third team in playoff history to force a Game 7 with a multi-overtime Game 6 win. The two previous teams to accomplish that feat were the 1973-74 Milwaukee Bucks and 2008-09 Chicago Bulls. Both of those teams lost to the C's in Game 7.
