Haslem rips Green, claims he ‘broke the code' with Celtics prediction on TNT

Very few people outside of South Florida thought the Miami Heat were going to stave off elimination by beating the Boston Celtics on the road in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Whether it was media talking heads, fans -- nearly everyone thought Miami's season was ending Friday night at TD Garden. The Celtics were favored by 9 points!

But the Heat defied the odds and defeated the Celtics 111-103, led by Jimmy Butler's 47 points in 46 minutes. The abundance of doubters fueled the Heat quite a bit, and no person did more to create that fired up mentality than Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

Green, during the TNT postgame show after the Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks to win the Western Conference on Thursday night, was asked to predict which team from the East would be Golden State's opponent in the 2022 NBA Finals.

After deflecting at first, Green predicted it would be the Celtics.

The Heat noticed.

“Draymond broke the code,” Haslem told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports after Game 6. “You ain’t supposed to say some s--t like that. That’s disrespectful. He know better than that."

Haslem also told Haynes that Green "let Shaq peer pressure him into saying some s--t he ain’t got no business saying. I didn’t sleep much after he said that. That was some bulls---."

Did Green really cross the line? Or was he just trying to fire up the Heat so the East Finals could go seven games and, as a result, give whichever team wins the series less rest and more wear and tear before having to travel across the country for Game 1 against the Warriors on Thursday night.

The Heat were massive underdogs Friday night. They definitely won't be Sunday night in Game 7.
