Walker again lead Team USA past Greece 69-53 at FIBA World Cup

Kemba Walker had 15 points and six assists and Jaylen Brown a team-leading nine rebounds and eight points as Team USA defeated Greece 69-53 on Saturday morning to advance to the quarterfinals of the FIBA World Cup tournament in China. BOX SCORE

Marcus Smart, returning after missing the victory over Japan with a quad injury, scored three points off the bench in 17 minutes. The other member of the Celtics on the US team, Jayson Tatum, is still recovering from an ankle sprain suffered earlier in the week vs. Turkey.

NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks led Greece with 15 points and 13 rebounds. He was defended by Smart for most of Smart's minutes.

Amid handshakes at the end of the game, Antetokounmpo appeared to exchange words with Brown before being separated by US guard Khris Middleton, Antetokounmpo's Bucks teammate.

Team USA (4-0) outscored Greece 35-19 in the second and third quarters and the Greeks got no closer than 11 points the rest of the way. The US, atop Group K and into the quarterfinals, next plays Monday against Brazil.

How tall is Tacko Fall? Celtics center disputes his official NBA measurement

How tall is Tacko Fall? Celtics center disputes his official NBA measurement

So, just how tall is Celtics' fan favorite and fast-growing legend Tacko Fall?

7-foot-7? 7-6? 7-5?

All those heights have been used in stories on the rookie, who will split time between Boston and the Celtics' Gatorade affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, this season.

When the NBA 2K20 video game used Fall as an example of NBA players "shrinking" after their official measurements are listed on rosters, the rookie begged to differ.

Give Tacko the inch, even without shoes?

Whatever the height, Fall making like Tom Brady in a Red Claws practice Thursday is a must-watch:

As is the big man's bowling prowess with his teammates this week at Marcus Smart's charity event.

Injury updates on Daniel Theis and Robert Williams as Celtics head west

Injury updates on Daniel Theis and Robert Williams as Celtics head west

BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics may not have to dig as deep into their big man well for their game Friday night against the Golden State Warriors.

Daniel Theis and Robert Williams III, both unable to play in the 140-133 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, are listed as questionable for the game Friday vs. Golden State in San Francisco, the opener of the C's five-game trip west.

Theis was unable to play due to a sprained little finger in his right hand.

Following Boston’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, Theis told NBC Sports Boston that he dislocated his finger twice and popped it back in place both times.

“I just try to help the team any way I can,” Theis said.

Williams missed the Wizards game due to a sore right ankle that has progressed, but it remains to be seen if it has healed to the point where the 6-foot-10 big man can play Friday.

Boston has won nine in a row and the one bright spot with all the Celtics injuries at center is it has allowed others an opportunity to play a more significant role.

Enes Kanter got his second start of the season against Washington and will likely be in the starting lineup on Friday night if Theis can’t play.

Against Washington, Kanter had a near double-double of 13 points and nine rebounds.

Boston also got nice contributions from rookie center Vincent Poirier, who had three points, four rebounds and three assists in nine minutes.
