Watch Celtics star Jayson Tatum, son Deuce fight crime in new Nike commercial

Jayson Tatum's new Nike commercial includes a special family connection.

The Boston Celtics star and his young son, Deuce, team up to fight crime in the latest basketball advertisement from the apparel giant.

Tatum and Deuce -- equipped with the new Air Max 97 basketball sneaker releasing June 15 -- save the Celtics forward's hometown of St. Louis in a commercial named "Defend the Arch."

Check out the 30-second ad in the tweet below:

Foot Locker tweeted movie poster-looking photo of the commercial.

Commercials aren't new for Tatum. He was in Kyrie Irving's Nike ad in 2017, and he also has done television ads for Honey Dew Donuts.

It's all part of being a rising star on a historic NBA franchise.

NBA rookie survey: Carsen Edwards, Grant Williams among biggest draft steals

NBA rookie survey: Carsen Edwards, Grant Williams among biggest draft steals

The Boston Celtics didn't have a top-10 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. But they may have gotten some quality bang for their buck.

That's according to the NBA's annual rookie survey, in which first-year players field several questions about their peers, including which rookie they believe was the "steal" of the draft based on where he was selected.

Denver Nuggets big man Bol Bol and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kevin Porter Jr. topped that list, each receiving 19 percent of votes. But there was a five-way tie for second place ... that included two Celtics rookies in Carsen Edwards (No. 33 overall pick) and Grant Williams (No. 22 overall pick).

No. 14 overall pick Romeo Langford received multiple votes, as well, meaning three of the Celtics' four 2019 draft picks are viewed as potential steals of the draft. (Poor Tremont Waters.)

Edwards, who averaged a team-high 19.4 points per game for the Celtics in NBA Summer League action, was a popular name in the rookie survey, receiving votes in five of the seven categories, including "Who will be the Rookie of the Year?", "Which rookie will have the best career?", "Which rookie is the best shooter?" and "Which rookie is the best playmaker?"

Only Chicago Bulls guard Coby White (No. 7 overall) popped up in as many categories as Edwards. That's not bad for a second-round pick out of Purdue who was passed over 32 times before the C's scooped him up.

Healthy Marcus Smart already hitting crazy trick shots for Team USA

Healthy Marcus Smart already hitting crazy trick shots for Team USA

Marcus Smart was cleared to return to Team USA over the weekend after a calf injury kept him sidelined for almost two weeks.

That means the Boston Celtics guard could practice with the team in Australia on Monday as it gears up for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

It also means the world got to enjoy the wonderful trick shot Smart pulled off Monday.

We're not sure how many attempts Smart made off-camera, but it's still pretty awesome.

Smart is one of four Celtics players on the current Team USA roster, joining Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. After De'Aaron Fox pulled out this weekend, the squad needs to make one more cut to get down to its final 12-man roster, so the C's will have at least three players on this Team USA squad.

That's good news for Boston fans, as it sounds like the quartet is using the extra time to develop some chemistry.

"Our camaraderie, our chemistry is building," Walker told reporters Monday, via USA Basketball. "It’s getting better each day. We just had a 17-hour flight out here. We are on a plane, joking, laughing, stuff like that. So, it’s been great."
