If the Boston Celtics don't bring Tacko Fall back next season, there's always Liverpool.
The 7-foot-6 Celtics big man shared some Instagram footage Friday of himself showing of some impressive soccer skills at a local park. Fall tagged Liverpool stars Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane, so he's clearly angling for a spot on the Reds.
"Yoo @virgilvandijk @sadiomaneofficiel, If you guys need an other striker this summer (let me know)," Fall wrote in the Instagram post.
We're not sure if that ball is tiny or is just dwarfed by Fall's massive feet.
For context, Fall isn't a stranger to the pitch: He played soccer frequently growing up in Senegal and credited the sport for helping him develop a valuable skill.
"What soccer does is it really helps you with your footwork," Fall said in 2019 after first signing with the Celtics. "That's the main thing. And as you may have seen, a lot of guys that played soccer before and made the transition to basketball really have a different type of footwork and really can move pretty well. So, I feel like that's what soccer really helped me with."
Whether Fall's basketball career will continue in Boston is unclear. He's played the last two seasons on two-way contracts, and while he's a favorite among fans and teammates alike, he appeared in just 26 games over those two seasons and has yet to make a real impact.
So, new Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens could decide it's time to move on from Fall this summer. But C's fans will be hoping he sticks around and can flash some of his underrated athleticism on the court.
