The Celtics were tied with the Buffalo Braves in Game 6 of their second-round playoff series when Braves star Bob McAdoo fouled White in the act of shooting just before the buzzer sounded.
Braves head coach Jack Ramsay protested the call, but the officials held firm and awarded White two free throws with the lane cleared and the game on the line, just like Butler on Wednesday night.

The future Hall of Famer calmly sunk both shots in front of the raucous Buffalo crowd, clinching a 106-104 win for Boston that punched its ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals.
