Fitchburg State University has suspended one of its basketball players for pulling a ridiculous cheap shot during a game vs Nichols College on Tuesday night.

Junior guard Kewan Platt, who also was barred from campus for the vicious event, threw an elbow at opponent Nate Tenaglia while Tenaglia attempted a three-pointer.

Fitchburg State released the following statement on the incident:

"The Fitchburg State community is appalled by the conduct displayed during Tuesday night’s home basketball game. The player involved has been indefinitely suspended from the team and barred from campus, effective immediately.

His behavior is antithetical to our community values and good sportsmanship. Fitchburg State does not tolerate behavior that violates those standards. The case is being reviewed at the student conduct level for consideration of further sanctions."

Platt was assessed his second technical foul of the game and was subsequently ejected. Nichols went on to beat Fitchburg by a score of 84-75.
