The NFL meetings in May are typically a "hit quick and get out affair," said Patriots Insider Tom E Curran. The commissioner looks at a few new rule changes, addresses some business items, and cleans out his notebook from the March meetings.

This year, things may be a bit more interesting. The biggest difference is the discipline rulings for "Deflategate."

"Whether or not (Roger) Goodell will be open on this topic remains to be seen. And will fellow owners of Robert Kraft have much to say about how the Patriots are comporting themselves in these early days of the Deflategate punishment situation? Will the Patriots appeal? Will Roger Goodell come down hard, or hide behind the veil of all the litigation?"

Curran said that the NFL would be putting in some new standards in practices to measure the PSI of footballs before and during the games.
