It would be hard to argue against the claim that New England sports fans are among the most passionate in the country. But are they dangerous?

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell isn't taking any chances.

After upholding Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension on Tuesday, the NFL called police in Scarborough, Maine in order to have the force keep an eye on Goodell's Prout Neck property.

"They did reach out and let us know about the [Brady] decision and that it might not be popular," Scarborough police chief Robbie Moulton told the Portland Press Herald.

Moulton told the paper that there had not been anything out of the ordinary that occurred near Goodell's property, but that officers will be patrolling the area.
