History continues to be made by the New England Revolution.

Having already clinched the Supporters' Shield for most points in the league for the first time in franchise history, the Revolution set a new Major League Soccer record for points in a season with 73 following Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids at Gillette Stadium.

Tajon Buchanan, a member of the Canadian men's national team, scored his ninth goal of the season for the Revolution (22-4-7) in the 74th minute and keeper Matt Turner recorded his fifth clean sheet of the season with four saves.

Bruce Arena's unmatched experience has paid dividends for Revs

For good measure, Bruce Arena tied Sigi Schmid for the league's all-time wins record for a head coach, with 240.

New England has one match left in the regular season before it attempts to capture the MLS Cup for the first time in club history. The Revolution have played in the final five times (2002, 2005-07, 2014) but have come up short in all of their previous attempts.
