Matt Turner will remain in New England for the 2021 MLS season.
The New England Revolution announced Tuesday they've signed the 26-year-old goaltender to a new contract.
Turner spoke last season about the possibility of playing overseas, but he'll officially return to help the Revs make another postseason run.
Since joining the Revolution in 2016 as an undrafted free agent, Turner has a record of 24-21-23 with 16 shutouts in 69 starts. He was named the Revs' Team MVP in 2020 and placed second in MLS Goalkeeper of the Year voting after helping to set a team record for lowest goals-against everage (1.09).
Turner recently was called up to the U.S. Men's National Team's January Camp for the second straight year. He will look to make his first international appearance with the USMNT in a planned friendly match later this month.
