Penilla undergoes surgery to repair left foot fracture

New England Revolution forward Cristian Penilla underwent successful surgery to repair his left foot fracture on Wednesday.

Penilla suffered the injury during the Revs' 2-1 win over New York City FC on Oct. 11. The 29-year-old's expected recovery time is two-to-three months.

In 17 appearances this season, Penilla leads New England with four assists. The Ecuador native has 18 goals and 19 assists in 80 appearances since joining the Revs in 2018.
