The 6-foot-3, 210-pound, University of Michigan-bound center from Elmira, New York, had a strong development camp last month for the B's and most recently a breakout performance at the World Junior Summer Showcase where he led Team USA in goals (four) and points five the first three games.

At Notre Dame, he was one of college hockey's top scorers and a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.

The corner-infielder is one of the Sox' best prospects and if he keeps progressing, could make the majors at a very young age.

Bio: Chavis was called up to the Red Sox early in the season amid a slew of injuries to the team's first and second basemen. He made an immediate impact and has remained with the major-league roster ever since. As a rookie, he has shown off excellent power, clubbing 17 home runs as of this writing, and has been better than expected at both first and second base. It seems that Chavis could be a key, young cog in the Red Sox' infield of the future and he should only get better as he continues to develop.

Bio: DeBrusk was able to make a leap last season for the Bruins. Playing as a second-line winger along with David Krejci, DeBrusk notched 27 goals after netting 16 as a rookie. He has excellent skating ability and his speed should make him a threat to continue to wreak havoc on opposing defenses. DeBrusk also proved to be a handful when on the Bruins' excellent power-play unit. He scored 8 goals on the power-play, good for fourth overall on the team behind David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand.

Bio: So far in 2019, Devers has been, arguably, the most most consistent player on the Red Sox. He has the most hits in the MLB (144 as of this writing) and the most doubles as well (37). He has already belted a career-high 22 homers and is second in the AL in batting average, trailing only DJ LeMahieu. Devers' defense has been steadily improving at third base as well, so it's looking possible that he could become an all-around player like the Red Sox were initially hoping. Either way, it appears that he has the No. 2 spot in the lineup locked down long-term.

Bio: Edwards was a second-round draft pick by the Celtics in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he easily could've gone in the first round. Edwards was a dynamic scorer at Purdue and averaged 24.3 points per game in his final season with the Boilermakers. Edwards continued to play well during the Las Vegas Summer League and averaged the 15th most points per game of any player with 19.4 while shooting a whopping 46.7 percent from behind the arc. He should have a chance to emerge as the Celtics' top backup to Kemba Walker early in his career.

Bio: Fall's intimidating, 7-foot-7 frame will strike fear into any trying to face him in the paint. Though he is still developing as a basketball player, Fall averaged 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game at UCF during his senior season. He signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics and became a sensation in the Las Vegas Summer League because of the ease with which he made plays at the rim. He averaged 7.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 77 percent from the floor.

Bio: In his first career NHL game, Frederic got into a fight Brandon Tanev and immediately showed off his toughness. While he couldn't quite lock down the third-line center role for the team, he did notch 18 hits, 15 penalty minutes, and three blocked shots in just 19 NHL games. If he can score a bit as he did with the Providence Bruins (11 goals in 45 games) he could become a tough, two-way center with some physicality that the Bruins certainly could use.

Bio: Since being the 12th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, Groome has had a rocky career. In 2017, he split time between the Lowell Spinners and the Greenville Drive. He thrived in Lowell (1.64 ERA), but struggled in Greenville, posting a 3-7 record and a 6.70 ERA. After missing all of 2018 and part of 2019 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Groome will have a chance to rebuild his prospect status moving forward. He is still well regarded and has a ton of potential.

Bio: Harris was a rare 4-year running back in college. He was a top rushing option for Alabama during his career, and he tallied 3,477 scrimmage yards and 25 career touchdowns on 562 touches over four seasons. Despite back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Harris never had a heavy workload in college. His career-high in carries was only 150. Harris will have a chance to earn a role in the Patriots' running back corps and he could help to form a dynamic one-two punch with Sony Michel.

Bio: Bill Belichick has only ever used a first-round pick on a receiver once. It was to get N'Keal Harry. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound receiver has great contested catch ability and showed off more athletic ability than many expected at the NFL Combine. Harry had consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons and combined for 17 touchdowns over the course of his final two collegiate years. The Arizona State product will have a chance to emerge quickly in a barren Patriots receiving corps, and he could end up becoming a starter very early in his career.

Bio: Heinen didn't quite live up to expectations during the 2018-19 season, but he still logged 34 points and a rating of plus-13 in the regular season despite largely playing on Boston's unsettled third line. Heinen is a good skater and has proven to be durable, playing in 77 games in each of the past two seasons. Notching numbers closer to his 2017-18 totals (16 goals, 31 assists) would be ideal for Heinen if he continues on the third line.

However, the 22-year-old has proven tough to hit at the major league level, totaling 26 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA in his first 12 innings pitched as a big-leaguer thanks largely to his mid-90s fastball. Odds are his 19.5 K/9 will regress at some point, but so too will his 8.3 BB/9.

Bio: Jackson is already the third Patriots cornerback on this list, so that should tell you something about the state the Patriots are in at that position (Hint: It's good). Jackson went undrafted in 2018, but he had 24 tackles and three interceptions in 13 games (5 starts) for the Patriots. He is turning into a steal for the Patriots and they will have to find a way to continue to use him, whether it's in the slot or outside. But eventually, he seems likely to usurp the starting job from Jason McCourty.

Bio: The Celtics took Langford in the lottery because of his tough, team-oriented attitude. He played a single collegiate season at Indiana, averaging 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game for the Hoosiers. He did all this while battling through a thumb injury that messed with his shot because he didn't want to let his teammates down. If Langford can improve on his shooting percentages (44.8 from the field, 27.2 from 3-point range) with his thumb now healed, he could quickly find a role on the wing for the Celtics.

The Boston University product has tallied 14 goals and 46 assists in his first two years in Boston.

At least one undrafted rookie free agent has made the Patriots' initial 53-man roster for 15 straight seasons — and Meyers has a chance at extending that streak to 16. Meyers has been putting in the work at practices, and he's been opening eyes not just with his talent but also his attitude and willingness to learn. But it was his football skills that were on display in New England's preseason opener in Detroit, as he hauled in six catches for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns on eight targets. If he can keep that momentum going and building trust with Tom Brady, the N.C. State product has a chance of sticking around Foxboro for years to come.

After appearing in just 32 games last year to average 2.5 points and 1.3 blocks, Williams has a chance to crack the Celtics rotation this season after the departures of Al Horford and Aron Baynes. He still has a long way to go, but Williams certainly has the talent to play significant minutes in the NBA.

Bio: Zboril scored four goals and tallied 15 assists in 68 games with the Providence Bruins last season, but only appeared in two games for the Bruins. He was the team's first round pick in 2015, so you've got to hope Zboril cracks his way into the NHL sometime soon.
