Agent fires Josh McDaniels after Colts snafu

Josh McDaniels and agent Bob LaMonte have something in common. They both quit.

LaMonte dumped McDaniels after the Patriots offensive coordinator informed him that he was backing out of the head coaching position he had accepted with the Colts. The agent offered some clarification as to why when speaking with the Sports Business Journal’s Liz Mullen.

According to ESPN, LaMonte told McDaniels was “committing professional suicide” when McDaniels said he intended to spurn the Colts.

Interestingly enough, ESPN notes that LaMonte also represents Colts general manager Chris Ballard, who had hired McDaniels and then had to follow up with a somewhat embarrassing press conference Wednesday.
