Antonio Brown working out for the Saints, posts that he's ‘back to business'

With controversy-filled stints in Pittsburgh, Oakland and New England, it's safe to say that Antonio Brown is no Saint.

That could be about to change.

The wide receiver is working out for the New Orleans Saints on Friday. Brown posted the waiver he signed with the team on Instagram, with the caption "back to business," via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

The NFL is continuing to investigate Brown, 31, after he was sued by former trainer Britney Taylor for sexual assault. He's also was accused of sexual misconduct at his home by an artist who was working there in 2017.

The New England Patriots released Brown on Sept. 20, just 11 days after signing him. He played one game for them and caught a touchdown pass from Tom Brady in the Week 2 victory over the Dolphins in Miami. The Patriots let him go after text messages he sent the artist who had accused him were made public.

Brown has denied the allegations and if he signs with the Saints, or any NFL team, he could wind up on the commissioner's exempt list making him ineligible to play while facing additional discipline from the league.

On social media, he has called out Patriots owner Robert Kraft for his legal trouble in a Florida prostitution case, criticized the NFL's investigation of himself as well as apologized numerous times for his behavior, alternating between swearing off the NFL and seeking to return the game while dropping hints of his availability while the Pats offense struggled this season.

New Orleans could be looking for depth at receiver after their star wideout Michael Thomas injured his hand and was listed as limited at practice. The Saints (12-3) could be the NFC's No. 1 seed in the playoffs if they beat the Carolina Panthers in the regular-season finale on Sunday and the Green Bay Packers (12-3) lose at Detroit and the San Francisco 49ers (12-3) lose at Seattle.

Saints head coach Sean Payton confirmed following practice Friday that New Orleans had six wide receivers in for workouts and that no roster move will be made at this time -- they want more clarification on Brown's postseason eligibility from the league.

It's also important to note the Saints worked out Dez Bryant last season and didn't end up signing him. So, the Brown workout could end up meaning nothing.
