Belknap County Attorney releases statement on Patrick Chung's cocaine charge

On Thursday, it was revealed New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung was indicted on a charge of cocaine possession.

According to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Jim Murray, police showed up to Chung's home in Meredith, N.H. after an alarm was tripped and found cocaine in the house. Belknap County Attorney Andrew Livernois released a statement on Thursday afternoon that provides more details on the incident and seems to back up Murray's report.

The Patriots released a statement as well, saying they will not comment on the matter while Chung's judicial proceedings take place.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the 32-year-old will face a suspension this season. Any discipline from the league would have to wait until his legal situation is resolved.

Chung is scheduled to be arraigned next Wednesday.
