Bill Belichick reaches coaching milestone in Patriots' win vs. Vikings

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick reached another milestone in his team's 24-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

Belichick became just the fourth head coach in NFL history to win 250 games, regular season and playoffs combined, with the same franchise.

Here are the other coaches to accomplish this feat:

--George Halas: 324 wins for the Chicago Bears (1920-67)
--Don Shula: 274 for the Miami Dolphins (1970-95)
--Tom Landry: 270 for the Dallas Cowboys (1960-89)

Belichick has won 28 career playoff games, the most of any coach in league history. His five Super Bowl titles also are the most for any coach, although Halas and Vince Lombardi both won five championships. All of Halas' titles were in the pre-Super Bowl era, while Lombardi won three NFL championships and two Super Bowls.

The Patriots have won 10 or more regular season games in 16 of 18 seasons under Belichick. A Week 14 win over the Miami Dolphins next Sunday would make it 17 10-win seasons for Belichick.

These milestones are nice, but Belichick probably only cares about one of them -- becoming the first head coach to win six championships in any era.
