The first 2020 presidential debate took center stage in the national consciousness Tuesday night.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden faced off at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio in their first of three debates before the presidential election on Nov. 3.

Major League Baseball was the only professional sports league in action Tuesday night, and plenty of athletes from other leagues used their night off to tune in.

Several New England Patriots players were particularly invested in Tuesday's debate, using Twitter to voice their opinions as the night went on.

Here's a roundup of debate reactions from Patriots players:

A pair of Celtics players -- guard Brad Wanamaker and big man Enes Kanter -- also chimed in during the debate.

Players in the NBA and the NFL have been active in calling for Americans to vote in the 2020 presidential election and request mail-in ballots if needed.

They've also used their platforms to express their opinions about the candidates, and it appears that will remain the case over the next month-plus.
