The Patriots have two players in the coveted "Madden 99" club this year.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski both have perfect 99 overall ratings in EA Sports' upcoming Madden 19 video game.

Here's how EA Sports explained their decision to give Brady the perfect rating:

"The G.O.A.T. graced the cover of Madden NFL 18 last year (he was a 99 OVR at launch) and led his New England Patriots to a 13-3 record culminating in the eighth Super Bowl berth of his career. Brady threw for over 4,500 yards and 32 touchdowns and battled a slew of nagging injuries along the way. But at age 40, Brady earned his third career NFL MVP award.

He’ll kick off the Madden NFL 19 season with a 99 OVR, just like last year. Brady owns 99 attributes in Awareness, Stamina, and Play Action and has the best Throw Accuracy in the game, also maxed out at 99."

And for Gronk:

"Taking a closer look at Gronk’s 99 Club ratings in Madden NFL 19, he ranks first among all tight ends in several categories. His 87 Stiff Arm, 86 Trucking, 97 Catch In Traffic, and 94 Release ratings besting all other players at his position. And he’s tied at the top with one other to-be-named tight end with a 94 Spectacular Catch rating. When your TE is out there hauling in ridiculous receptions like this one, it all makes sense.

Basically, Gronk gets off the line better than any other tight end in the game, and whether he’s single, double, or triple covered, there’s a remarkably good chance he catches any pass that comes his way. And if he’s got room to run, he has the ability to steamroll any defender in his path."

The other five players with 99 overall ratings are Aaron Rodgers, Antonio Brown, Von Miller, Aaron Donald, and Luke Kuechly.
