It's been an eventful 2020 NFL offseason, and free agency is providing plenty of drama for football fans.

The most notable move was Tom Brady's decision to leave the New England Patriots after 20 years and sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs all of a sudden are among the most popular NFL franchises and one of the favorites to win the NFC and play in Super Bowl LV.

Brady's departure from the Patriots wasn't the only impactful move, though. There were plenty over the last week.

Let's take a look at the biggest winners and losers of NFL free agency so far.

The new QB1 in Foxboro?

Jarrett Stidham was selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and now he's the leading candidate to start at quarterback for New England next season following Tom Brady's departure. Stidham's time to shine is now, and it's an incredible opportunity for him. Even though he's not surrounded by many playmakers on offense, the coaching he'll receive from Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels will be tremendously valuable for the rest of his pro career.

This one was pretty easy.

It's a huge blow whenever you lose the greatest quarterback in NFL history, even if he's 42 years old. Tom Brady's departure will impact the franchise in so many ways, both on and off the field. It's literally the end of an era, one that produced six Super Bowl championships in 20 years. 

Brady wasn't the only important player to leave the Patriots this offseason. Linebackers Jamie Collins (Detroit Lions), Elandon Roberts (Miami Dolphins) and Kyle Van Noy (Dolphins), defensive lineman Danny Shelton (Lions), center Ted Karras (Dolphins) and safety Nate Ebner (New York Giants) all have left in free agency. Furthermore, safety Duron Harmon was traded to the Lions and kicker Stephen Gostkowski was released.

It's safe to say the Patriots have lost a ton of valuable experience over the last two weeks.

The Dolphins entered free agency with more than $80 million in salary cap space, and they were quick to make impactful additions to their roster. They bolstered their pass defense, pass rush, offensive line depth and more.

The Dolphins finished last season 5-4 after a brutal 0-7 start, and their strong offseason should help them build on that late 2019 season success going into the 2020 campaign.

The Buccaneers decided to move on from Jameis Winston and sign Tom Brady, and who could blame them? Brady is the GOAT and Jameis is coming off a season in which he threw a league-leading 30 (!) interceptions. Brady has 29 interceptions in the last four years combined. Winston's awful decision-making resulted in too many costly turnovers last season, and judging by the fact he's still unsigned, it's clear the league doesn't view him as a starting-caliber player right now. Things could change, but it's not a stretch to say Winston is the biggest loser of free agency so far.

Signing the best quarterback in NFL history is an easy way to land on the "winners" portion of this ranking. The addition of Tom Brady immediately makes the Bucs one of the league's most popular teams and brings much-needed relevancy to a franchise with the second-longest active playoff appearance drought.

If recent season ticket and merchandise sales are any indication, there's an incredible energy in Tampa Bay for the upcoming season.

The Texans traded one of the best wide receivers in the league, DeAndre Hopkins, to the Arizona Cardinals for a pretty underwhelming return. They have not yet signed a player who could come close to filling his role. Veteran wideout Randall Cobb was a decent addition for $9 million per season, but he's not a game-changing playmaker like Hopkins. Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is one of the most talented young players in the league, but his offense is far worse right now than it was last season. Houston needs to give him some more offensive weapons ASAP.

The Saints were able to re-sign franchise quarterback Drew Brees for a manageable annual average salary of $25 million. They also were able to restructure the contract of elite wide receiver Michael Thomas to create cap space, and soon after they signed veteran wideout Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders is a tremendous talent and gives Brees another reliable target. His presence also gives the Saints a much-needed No. 2 wideout and should take some pressure off of Thomas. Let's not forget Sanders also adds a lot of playoff experience as a former Super Bowl winner with the Denver Broncos. 

The Saints offense should once again be among the highest-scoring units in the league with Brees, running back Alvin Kamara, Thomas and Sanders leading the way.

Star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was one of the best free agents to hit the market, but he's still unsigned. When healthy, Clowney is one of the league's best pass rushers, and he's tallied 21.5 sacks over the last three seasons. He's dealt with injuries throughout his career, however, and he's only played one full 16-game season (2017). Clowney reportedly rejected a contract worth $17 million per season with the Dolphins and is aiming for $20 million annually, per the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson. It's a bold gamble for Clowney, especially with so many teams having already used up a lot of their salary cap space.

The Chargers quietly have enjoyed an impressive offseason. Here's a look at the notable additions they've made:

--CB Chris Harris Jr. (free agency)
--DT Linval Joseph (free agency)
--OT Bryan Bulaga (free agency)
--OG Trai Turner (trade)

In addition to these moves, the Chargers also franchise tagged star tight end Hunter Henry. 

The most glaring hole in the Chargers roster is still at quarterback, but whoever fills this role is going to walk into a team with quality pass-catchers and a strong offensive line.

The Redskins reportedly offered Amari Cooper more money than the Cowboys in free agency, but the star wide receiver still chose to return to Dallas. Cooper would've been a great target for second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who still doesn't have a top-tier wideout.

Very little has been done to upgrade a Redskins offense that scored the fewest points and tallied the fewest total yards in the league last season. The Redskins also haven't found a solution to Trent Williams' situation, which is getting ridiculous. In Washington's defense, signing cornerback Kendall Fuller to a four-year, $40 million was a nice move. Other than that, there's not much for Redskins fans to be excited about entering the 2020 campaign.

Kyler Murray had a pretty good rookie season (64.4 completion percentage, 3,722 yards, 20 TD) on a bad Cardinals team, and there's reason to believe 2020 will be even better. How so? Well, the Cardinals acquired an elite wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins in a trade with the Texans, and they didn't give up much to get the deal done. The former Texans star has tallied three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, in addition to a total of 30 touchdowns over that span. Hopkins and a still productive Larry Fitzgerald give Murray an excellent 1-2 punch at wide receiver, which should make the Cardinals offense quite potent next season.

The NFC West should again be among the most competitive divisions in the league next season. Unfortunately for the Rams, they might be the worst team, especially after division rivals including the 49ers and Cardinals have made some impressive moves this offseason.

What have the Rams done? They've lost several veteran players, including cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman, safety Eric Weddle, linebacker Dante Fowler, defensive tackle Michael Brockers, linebacker Clay Matthews and linebacker Cory Littleton. Todd Gurley's career with the Rams also ended when the Rams released him Friday. Gurley was a 2018 All-Pro and tallied 35 total touchdowns over the last two seasons, but his contract was too much of a burden given his recent injury history. 

The Rams went all-in to win a Super Bowl over the last few years by signing high-priced players and trading away valuable draft picks for veterans. These moves have caught up to the Rams, and now it's time for them to reset their roster. But hey, at least they're still paying mediocre quarterback Jared Goff an average of $33.5 million per season!
