Turns out re-signing Nick Folk was a smart move by the New England Patriots.
The veteran kicker booted his second game-winning field goal of the season Sunday, drilling a 50-yarder as time expired to lift the Patriots to a 20-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Folk has missed just two field goals all season (17 for 19), and his clutch kick Sunday helped keep the Patriots' playoff hopes alive.
Needless to say, he's built up some goodwill among his teammates -- including quarterback Cam Newton, who has affectionately dubbed Folk "Kicker Guy."
"I told Kicker Guy, he's putting on a performance that is going to put him on Santa Claus' Christmas list," Newton told reporters after the game.
"I'm expecting him to stay on Santa's good list moving forward from Boogie's household. You can be expecting something from there."
Maybe Newton will re-gift Folk the blanket he wore to Sunday's game.
Patriots teammates Damiere Byrd and Matt LaCosse also showed love for the 36-year-old kicker on Twitter, while wide receiver Gunner Olszewski retweeted a tweet from the team's official account.
Folk filled in admirably last season for the injured Stephen Gostkowski, and he's kept that consistency going into 2020 -- which might end with a few more gifts under his Christmas tree.
