Bill Belichick doesn't like when his players fumble or showboat. Cordarrelle Patterson did both Sunday against the Bears.
Patterson made up for a lost fumble on a first-quarter kickoff by returning a second-quarter kick 95 yards for a score. With no defenders in sight as he approached the end zone, he slowed down and high-fived J.C. Jackson.
And that's probably going to cost him:
Great return as Patterson atones. But stopping at the 5 to let J.C. Jackson catch up for a high-five before Patterson sashayed over the goal line was probably not what the Patriots are looking for.
