David Andrews' analogy for latest ‘Game of Thrones' episode is pretty great

To state the obvious, there are "Game of Thrones" spoilers below. Don't say we didn't warn you.

David Andrews was one of the reported 17.8 million people who watched last Sunday's highly-anticipated episode of HBO's "Game of Thrones."

But unlike millions of those people, his reaction to "The Battle of Winterfell" was ... meh.

Here was the New England Patriots center's immediate reaction to the episode on Twitter:

In a press conference with reporters Tuesday at Gillette Stadium, Andrews was asked to elaborate.

"I don’t know. I mean, it was good, but we’re going to build it up, and it was kind of like driving to work with your windshield frozen," Andrews said, via MassLive.com's Andrew Callahan. "You’re like, ‘Was that a stop sign?'

"I mean, it was good. But I think it got built up a little too much. We believed the hype a little too much there. ... I like the battles — I guess that’s pretty cool — but you didn’t get to see nothing."

Andrews' analogy carries weight: Among the episode's biggest critiques was that the lengthy battle for between the living and the dead was (literally) too dark -- to the point where its director of cinematography felt compelled to respond.

The Patriots center also didn't find the show's dramatic ending -- when Arya Stark saves Winterfell by hitting the Night King with a dagger at the buzzer -- very believable.

"You’ve got guys getting swarmed, and then all of a sudden, they get out of it scot free?" Andrews said. "How’d they do that?"

Considering this show features ice-breathing dragons and an army of revivable zombies, Andrews might want to lower his expectations a bit.

He also might want to talk to teammate Duron Harmon, who has been doing weekly "Game of Thrones" recaps on the Patriots' Twitter account and seemed to very much enjoy "The Battle of Winterfell."
