Did 2014 Patriots come in too low on NFL's 100 Greatest Teams ranking?

The NFL is celebrating its 100th anniversary during the 2019 season, and that includes a ranking of the 100 greatest teams in league history.

Teams ranked No. 100 through No. 31 have already been revealed, and one of the latest Patriots entries was the 2014 squad at No. 46.

Here's the official "NFL Top 100" video for the 2014 Patriots.

The 2014 Patriots were absolutely loaded, particularly on defense where elite cornerback Darrelle Revis was signed before the season to a one-year free agent contract. The season actually didn't start too well, highlighted by the infamous 41-14 road loss on "Monday Night Football" to the Kansas City Chiefs, a defeat that prompted the legendary "We're on to Cincinnati" press conference from head coach Bill Belichick.

The Patriots went on to win seven consecutive games, including nine victories in their next 11 matchups, to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs with a 12-4 record. New England overcame two 14-point deficits to beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional Round, then rolled over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots met the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX and became the first team to overcome a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and win a Super Bowl. Cornerback Malcolm Butler intercepted Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson at the 1-yard line with less than a minute to play to secure the Pats' fourth Super Bowl title in team history. Butler's clutch interception was ranked as the fifth-best play in league history earlier this year.

From a pure talent standpoint, this squad might be one of the top two or three Patriots teams in history. Putting the 2014 Pats at No. 46 seems pretty low for that reason alone.

Teams ranked No. 21 through No. 30 will be revealed Friday night on NFL Network. Three notable Patriots teams -- 2004, 2007 and 2016 -- have not been listed yet.

Here's a recap of the Patriots teams listed:

No. 79: 2018 Patriots
No. 51: 2001 Patriots
No. 46: 2014 Patriots
No. 32: 2003 Patriots
