Jamie Collins' first game with the Detroit Lions lasted all of a quarter and change.
The former New England Patriots linebacker was ejected in the second quarter of Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears under rather unusual circumstances.
Collins appeared to be protesting a missed call to an official by demonstrating that he had been blocked illegally when he lightly headbutted the ref.
The official didn't take kindly to the contact and immediately ejected Collins.
That's not how Collins wanted to start his Detroit tenure after signing a three-year, $30 million contract to reunite with ex-Patriots defensive coordinator and Lions head coach Matt Patricia this offseason.
