The great revolving door of Patriots coaches continues, as former Pats "character coach" Jack Easterby will be joining the Houston Texans as Executive Vice President of Team Development, according to the team.
Easterby, who left New England shortly following the team's sixth Super Bowl victory, and in the wake of Patriots owner Robert Kraft's solicitation charge, was a member of the Patriots' coaching staff since 2013.
In his role as "character coach," Easterby worked behind the scenes to advise and support Patriots players on the difficulties associated with the hard life of NFL players.
In 2011 Easterby was hired by the Chiefs. The following year, Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend and then took his own life in the team parking lot, which is an obviously difficult time for any organization, especially for someone with a role like Easterby's.
The Patriots hired Easterby before the 2013 season, and less than a year after the tragedy in Kansas City, Aaron Hernandez was arrested.

Easterby's departure was one of many for the Patriots this offseason, especially with respect to teams like the Texans, Titans, and Dolphins, who have been stockpiling former Patriots in the last few years.
While the extent to which Easterby's decision to leave the Patriots was influenced by the Kraft situation is unknown, there's no doubt his experience makes him a valuable addition to any coaching staff.
