Former Patriots WR Chris Hogan signs with Carolina Panthers

The Patriots' skeleton crew of a wide receiving corps became even more razor thin on Friday, as former Patriots WR Chris Hogan has signed with the Carolina Panthers:

Hogan became a free agent following the 2018 season.

Hogan came to the Patriots in 2016 from the Buffalo Bills, and had reached the Super Bowl in each of his three seasons with New England.

Hogan was a solid contributor for the team, with 35 receptions in 2018, 34 in 2017 despite only appearing in 9 games, and 38 in 2016.

The Patriot turned Panther certainly had some spectacular catches during his Patriots tenure.

Devin McCourty apparently took the news as an opportunity to chirp his former teammate:

While the Patriots essentially demonstrated their intent to move on from Hogan by not signing him, assuming Hogan would have returned to New England, the Pats' situation at wide receiver becomes all the more precarious.
