Gordon says relationship with Brady is ‘natural,' has helped him adapt quickly

FOXBORO -- Josh Gordon has been lauded for his ability to pick up enough of the Patriots offense to be able to play in two of three games since being added to the Patriots roster. Julian Edelman was the latest.

Gordon says the credit should go to those around him who've put him in a position to get up to speed quickly with the week-to-week game plans, particularly Tom Brady.

"I think that's greatly due, in part, to the amount of help I receive from my teammates here," he said. "Definitely Tom. All the receivers help bringing me along on a daily basis. The coaches just giving me all these resources I need. And me taking advantage of it and going home and studying it daily."

Gordon was given the locker next to Brady's when he arrived -- Brady had actually been using the empty stall for some extra storage space before the Patriots acquired Gordon -- and the two are always talking, apparently.

"We carve out time and we make it happen," he said. "We make sure that if there's something that might be a concern for him or me, he wants to know how I like to do something. Or if I want to know how he likes to do something, I just ask and he's open about it. And it makes it easy for me to communicate with him. Makes it a real natural-type of relationship."

Gordon has played in 18 snaps in each of his first two games with the Patriots. In all, he's caught four passes on six targets for 82 yards, including a 34-yard scramble-drill touchdown last week that gave Brady 500 for his career.
