Tom Brady is officially the starting quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he's getting paid very handsomely to fill that role.

The former New England Patriots star's contract with the Bucs is a two-year deal worth $50 million, which is fully guaranteed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. He also reports Brady's contract has $9.5 million in additional incentives, bringing the deal's total worth to almost $60 million.

Brady did very well on the guaranteed money front, where he ranks in the top 10 among all NFL quarterbacks. Here's where Brady's new average annual salary with the Buccaneers ranks among the highest-paid quarterbacks (all numbers per OverTheCap.com)

Russell Wilson, Seahawks, $35 million
Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers, $34 million
Aaron Rodgers, Packers, $33.5 million
Jared Goff, Rams, $33.5 million
Kirk Cousins, Vikings, $33 million
Carson Wentz, Eagles, $32 million
Dak Prescott, Cowboys, $30.144 million
Matt Ryan, Falcons, $30 million
Ryan Tannehill, Titans, $29.5 million
Jacoby Brissett, Colts, $27.975 million
Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers, $27.5 million
Matthew Stafford, Lions, $27 million
Derek Carr, Raiders, $25.005 million
Tom Brady, Buccaneers, $25 million
Drew Brees, Saints, $25 million

Even though $25 million is a lot to pay one player -- especially for someone who will be 43 years old Week 1 of the 2020 season -- the Bucs are getting a pretty good deal here when you consider Brady's average yearly salary isn't even in the top 10 among quarterbacks. This will allow the Buccaneers to use their remaining salary cap space to bolster their roster around Brady, and they already have been busy in accomplishing that.

Shortly after the official announcement of Brady's deal with the Bucs, Schefter reported Tampa Bay agreed to terms with offensive lineman Joe Haeg. He probably won't be the last free agent to eye the Bucs now that they are legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
