Cam Newton isn't the first quarterback to cut a rug on the practice fields outside Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots quarterback busted out some dance moves Monday during his first full-pads practice in New England, proving he'll bring a very different type of energy to Foxboro after Tom Brady's departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason.
Brady isn't above breaking it down, though. As the Newton dancing video made the rounds Tuesday, NBC Sports Boston's "Camera Guys" dug up some old footage of Brady getting low during a 2018 Patriots practice and put the two clips side-by-side.
And Newton absolutely loved it.
Newton has Brady beat in the dancing department (we think?), but the 31-year-old has massive shoes to fill on the field. Brady led the Patriots to nine Super Bowl appearances over 20 seasons in New England, while Newton is coming off foot and shoulder injuries that forced him to miss 16 games over the last two seasons.
The 31-year-old QB plays with an unmistakable swag, though, so confidence shouldn't be an issue as he works to find his groove with the Patriots.
