How Mac Jones fared in Patriots' OT loss to Cowboys

The New England Patriots fell to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but Mac Jones showed some serious poise in the overtime thriller.

Jones came through with a clutch 75-yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Bourne to put the Patriots back ahead late in the fourth quarter. The TD made up for his costly pick-six on the previous play.

The Patriots won the coin toss in OT, but the offense failed to take advantage of its oportunity. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys capitalized with a 35-yard TD pass to CeeDee Lamb to escape with the 35-29 win.

Here's Jones' final stat line for the day:

15/21, 229 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, 119.0 rating

And here were the rookie QB's top highlights:

Jones' first touchdown pass was a 20-yard strike to tight end Hunter Henry to put the Patriots ahead in the first quarter.

With a 21-20 lead late in the fourth quarter, Jones tossed a pick-six on 2nd and 15. Trevon Diggs came up with the interception, the Cowboys cornerback's seventh INT in six games.

Jones made up for the mistake, beating Diggs with a 75-yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Bourne on the very next play. It was the longest touchdown pass by a Patriots player since Tom Brady in 2017.

The Patriots (2-4) will host the New York Jets (1-4) next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
