The New England Patriots' 38-3 beatdown of the New York Jets to close the 2018 regular season on Sunday was further proof of the gap between the Pats and the rest of the AFC East.
The Jets, in particular, endured another frustrating campaign in 2018. New York went 4-12 to finish at the bottom of the division, and rookie quarterback Sam Darnold didn't light the world on fire, either.
The Jets have a ton of work to do to catch the Patriots, and always having to play catch up with their rivals is not a fun situation for the team's CEO, Chris Johnson.
Well, at least he's honest.
The Jets haven't tasted playoff football since 2010, when they upset the Patriots in the Divisional Round at Gillette Stadium -- also the site of Sunday's embarrassing loss.
The Patriots, meanwhile, clinched a first-round bye Sunday for the ninth consecutive season and are trying to reach the Super Bowl for the third year in a row.

The road back to the playoffs could be a long one for the Jets, and judging by their CEO's comments, that journey figures to include some sleepless nights as well.
