The Patriots' recent acquisition of Josh Gordon has elicited a mixed bag of reactions from around the league. For the most part, Patriots fans are excited to shore up the receiver position, an area of concern so far this season.

It may take Gordon a while to learn the team’s notoriously difficult playbook, but he has the physical tools to come in and contribute immediately.

The NFL put together a preview of what’s to come in the form of a Madden simulation, the first look fans have at Gordon in a Patriots uniform.

Sure, it’s a video game, but it’s still exciting to get a visualization of Gordon out-muscling defenders on jump balls left and right. It may be all he does early on as he grasps the intricacies of the offense and earns Tom Brady’s trust.

We’ve only had tantalizing glimpses of Gordon’s talent since his breakout year in 2013, but the Patriots seem to believe he can finally put it all together and contribute.

Given how the offense looked against Jacksonville, and the tough defenses remaining on the schedule, they’re going to need him to do just that.
