FOXBORO, Mass. -- A pair of New England Patriots wide receivers required medical attention near the end of first half in Sunday's Week 3 game against the New York Jets.
UPDATE (Sunday, Sept. 22, 4:36 p.m. ET): Edelman reportedly suffered a rib injury against the Jets. X-rays were negative, so that's a good sign for his availability moving forward.
UPDATE (Sunday, Sept. 22 at 3:32 p.m. ET): Here are two more injury updates for the Patriots. Edelman will not return.

ORIGINAL STORY: Josh Gordon landed hard on his lower back along the sideline after jumping up to catch a pass. He was a bit slow to get up, and eventually went into the blue medical tent. Gordon emerged from the tent and returned to the sideline.
Julian Edelman also needed attention in the last minute of the first half. He went down the tunnel toward the Patriots locker room before the halftime whistle. Edelman appeared to be grabbing his right rib area leaving the field. He missed most of training camp and the preseason recovering from a broken thumb.

Gordon joined his teammates walking onto the field for the second half. Edelman was not spotted, as of this writing.
The Patriots took a 20-lead into the half.
The Patriots released Antonio Brown on Friday. If Gordon and Edelman missed any more time, it would hurt the team's depth at wide receiver. The Patriots already are dealing with injuries along the offensive line.
