Le'Veon Bell to Patriots? Latest NFL betting odds suggest it's a long shot

Le'Veon Bell shocked NFL fans when he decided not to report to the Pittsburgh Steelers by Tuesday's deadline, and thus forfeiting his ability to play for any team during the 2018 season.

Bell now will wait until March when he can become an unrestricted free agent and start the next chapter of his career. Oddsmakers already have spoken when it comes to predicting which team Bell will join in 2019, and as of now, the New England Patriots are a long shot to sign the All-Pro running back.

Here's the complete list of betting lines, via OddsShark:

The Patriots have dealt with depth issues at running back throughout the season because of injuries to 2018 first-round pick Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead. Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has even been forced to play running back at times.

Bell is an elite dual-threat running back and will be as fresh as possible entering next season after not playing a single snap in 2018, but it's hard to fathom the Patriots spending the huge amount of money it will take to sign a player of Bell's caliber. The Patriots don't often give out massive, long-term free-agent contacts, and running back might be one of the last positions they'd consider doing one of those deals.

Wherever Bell goes will have a profound impact on the balance of power in the NFL. He's still only 26 years old.
