The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins will clash in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium, where two young quarterbacks will be under immense pressure to propel their team to a win.

Mac Jones had a fantastic rookie campaign for the Patriots in 2021. He led all first-year quarterbacks in completion percentage, passing yards and passing touchdowns. TuaĀ Tagovailoa has endured a more rocky start to his pro career since the Dolphins selected the former Alabama star with the No. 5 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.Ā Tagovailoa was average at best last season, throwing for 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 13 games.

Which quarterback will have a better 2022 season?

On NBC Sports Boston's "Pregame Live" show before the Patriots' Week 1 showdown, Michael Holley said Jones is "twice" the quarterback thatĀ Tagovailoa is.

Tom E. Curran and former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel disagreed.

Both the Patriots and Dolphins enter the new season facing high expectations, especially Miami after the franchise made some huge roster upgrades in the offseason (Tyreek Hill, Chase Edmonds, etc.). The Dolphins also haven't made the playoffs since 2016.
