Brady cuts WEEI interview short over comments about his daughter

Tom Brady's weekly interviews with WEEI Radio's Kirk & Callahan morning show are oftentimes his longest on-the-record interviews of the week. There are times when they run twice as long as his question-and-answer sessions from a podium at Gillette Stadium.

Monday's call into the station, though, was much shorter for Brady. And it might've been his last.

Brady cut short an interview with hosts Kirk Minihane and Gerry Callahan over derogatory comments made about his daughter on the station last week. Alex Reimer, one of the station's hosts and a recurring guest on Kirk & Callahan, made a disparaging remark about Brady's 5-year-old daughter during a discussion about the "Tom vs. Time" Facebook documentary.

"I've tried to come on this show for many years and showed you guys a lot of respect," Brady said. "I've always tried and come on and do a good job for you guys. It's very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. My daughter, or any child, certainly don't deserve that."

According to WEEI, Reimer was informed on Friday that he was being suspended indefinitely.

WEEI announced on Jan. 24 that it had come to an agreement with the Patriots to exclusively broadcast "Patriots Monday" and "Patriots Friday." Highlighted as part of the agreement were weekly interviews with Brady and Bill Belichick.
