NFL draft prospect WR Hunter Renfrow had a dream about Tom Brady

NFL draft prospect WR Hunter Renfrow had a dream about Tom Brady

Where a prospect lands in the NFL draft depends on a seemingly limitless number of factors. But wide receiver Hunter Renfrow may have found an easier way to determine his fate.

Renfrow, a 5-foot-10 receiver from Clemson, recently told Scott Keepfer of The Greenville News he had a dream he was drafted by the Patriots, and was meeting with quarterback Tom Brady.

"I would love to be a Patriot. Whoever gets me, that would be awesome," Renfrow told Keepfer. "I had a dream I was a Patriot last night. It was the weirdest thing. I went to sleep and ... I was having a meeting with Tom Brady."

Renfrow's dreams may well prove prophetic.

The receiver has been pegged as a potential draft target for the Patriots, who need help at wide receiver. While Renfrow is not expected to be drafted high, if at all, he has several characteristics that fit the bill of slot receivers that New England tends to be interested in: short, fast, and an ability to get open quickly.

Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Harper and Austin Collie fill out the laundry list of Patriots past and present who fit the mold of Renfrow.

When Harry met Tom - Brady works out with Patriots rookie WR and Edelman

When Harry met Tom - Brady works out with Patriots rookie WR and Edelman

While his teammates were at OTAs this week at Gillette Stadium, Tom Brady, who skipped them for the second year in a row, had a few Patriots around his place for private workouts.

On social media, Brady posted pictures of himself working out with teammate Julian Edelman and more significantly, Patriots first-round pick, wide receiver N'Keal Harry of Arizona State.

ESPN's Field Yates and Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith identified the player with his back to the camera waiting for a pass as Harry, who told reporters Thursday at OTAs that he had yet to speak to Brady personally and had only communicated with him through social media. That's obviously changed the past few days. Harry had said this week he was excited to "learn from the best."

Offseason workouts in Foxboro continue Wednesday and Thursday and mandatory minicamp is June 4-6. July training camp dates have yet to be announced.

The Patriots' first-round pick in this year's NFL Draft soon will be put in his first high-pressure situation in New England.

N'Keal Harry is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at McCoy Stadium on Friday, May 31 before the Pawtucket Red Sox's matchup against the Syracuse Mets.

The 6-foot-2 wide receiver will take photos with fans on the main concourse at McCoy from 6:45 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.

Harry has Patriots fans waiting anxiously to see how he'll gel with his new quarterback, Tom Brady. The Arizona State product has been impressive early on in OTAs and has some believing he'll have an immediate impact in his rookie year.
