After checking on Daniel Jones on the scouting trail, the New England Patriots are making the Duke quarterback come to them.

Jones was in Foxboro on Wednesday afternoon for a pre-draft visit with the Patriots, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported.

Jones also had a visit scheduled with the Redskins in Washington later that day, according to Rapoport.

The 21-year-old is one of the top QB prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft and projected by many as a first- or second-round pick. The Patriots sent several staffers to Duke's pro day on March 27 to scout Jones as they search for an heir apparent for 41-year-old quarterback Tom Brady.

New England likely would have to use the No. 32 overall pick to select Jones, and Rapoport suggests the Patriots may have to move up in the first round to have a shot at him.

Bill Belichick and Co. have plenty of other irons in the QB fire, though, as they also reportedly met with West Virginia quarterback Will Grier on Wednesday.
