NFL Rumors: Ex-Patriots WR Dontrelle Inman visits Jets in free agency

UPDATE, Tuesday, 6:55 p.m.: Inman has reportedly signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Might Dontrelle Inman find a home elsewhere in the AFC East?

The veteran wide receiver is meeting with the New York Jets in free agency Tuesday after paying a visit to the Detroit Lions on Monday, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports.

Inman requested and was granted his release from the New England Patriots on Sunday, shortly after wideout Josh Gordon was reinstated from his indefinite suspension.

Inman has been a productive receiver at times during his five-year NFL career and recorded catches in each of New England's first two preseason games. But there wasn't much room for the 30-year-old with Gordon back in the fold, and the Jets could use receiver depth behind Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder.
