NFL Twitter reacts to Antonio Brown's latest ‘retirement' announcement

Stop us if you've heard this before: Antonio Brown may have just announced his NFL retirement on Twitter.

The free-agent wide receiver posted a series of tweets Monday suggesting he's done playing football, writing that the "risk is greater than the reward."

Brown has been out of an NFL job since Sept. 20, 2019, when the New England Patriots released him as he faced several allegations of sexual assault and misconduct.

The 32-year-old wide receiver already has "retired" once since his Patriots release, using social media last November to slam the NFL and claim he's "done" with the league.

Brown later apologized and sought an NFL comeback, however. So, many are still skeptical the seven-time Pro Bowler is done for good despite his announcement Monday.

It's also notable that Brown would "retire" when he's currently a free agent. The 32-year-old was expected to receive some form of punishment from the NFL due to his off-field transgressions, so it's worth wondering whether he would have played in 2020 regardless.

Still, Brown was one of the NFL's best receivers of the last decade, so if he indeed is done playing, that's quite a major development.

Something tells us this won't be the last we hear from Brown, though.
