Nick Caserio: Patriots coach Bill Belichick has a ‘very playful side to him'

Bill Belichick's dog Nike was the star of the show on the second day of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Patriots coach showed off his fun side on Friday night by having Nike appear to be making New England's selections, and it was both hilarious and awesome.

We don't often see that side of Belichick -- he barely even cracks a smile when the Patriots win the Super Bowl -- but Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio says Belichick has a rather playful side to him that many never see.

"Great question, yeah. I didn't really see the picture until like a little bit later. I mean, honestly, Bill is awesome," Caserio said in a video press conference Friday night. "I've been fortunate to be around him for 19, 20 years now. He has I would say a very playful side to him. He's great to work for, he's very fair. He entrusts the people around him to try to do a good job for him. That's our responsibility and obligation to him. He probably has more fun than people realize, but it's all well-intentioned. The players see that as well. Man, I don't have a dog, but the dog got some airtime so that's a good thing."

That's definitely some nice insight from Caserio, especially considering it appears things are all business all the time with Belichick.

With the final day of the draft on Saturday, perhaps we'll see Nike take center stage again. And who knows? Maybe Belichick will pull off something even better.
