The New England Patriots will rely on their two rookie tight ends over the next few weeks.
Prior to Thursday night's game vs. the Los Angeles Rams, the Patriots announced they've activated Devin Asiasi from injured reserve and placed TE Ryan Izzo on IR with hand and hamstring injuries.
With Izzo out, Asiasi and fellow rookie third-round draft pick TE Dalton Keene both should have a chance to contribute in New England's offense. Asiasi, who had been on IR since Nov. 3, has yet to tally a reception this season. Keene has only one catch for eight yards.
In addition to the tight end swap, wide receiver Julian Edelman was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list and placed on IR.
Thursday night's Patriots-Rams matchup is set to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET.
