The New England Patriots have been busy hosting players for tryouts this week.
The Patriots brought in free agent defensive tackle Michael Barnett on a tryout Friday, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.
Barnett, who went undrafted in April, played the last four seasons for the University of Georgia.
He tallied 23 total tackles with one pass defensed in 10 games for the Bulldogs during the 2019 campaign. Barnett also played some defensive end at Georgia, and he's listed at 6-foot-4 and 304 pounds.
The Patriots lost several defensive players over the offseason, so it's not a surprise they're getting a look at a defensive tackle from one of college football's elite programs.
